Founded in 1951, the St. Mary’s County Historical Society mission is to bring into focus the people, places, and events that make St. Mary's County extraordinary. 

Through our large collection of genealogical, historical, and archival material we give life to the stories of the County's people, places, and events. Our collections are available to members and the public. Research Associates assist with through inquiries from tracing family histories to revealing the details about land, buildings, and historic events.

Headquartered in Leonardtown's Historic Tudor Hall, we are open Wednesdays through Friday from 11:00am to 4:00pm and by appointment on the Second Saturday of the Month.
